Supporting Tammy's Recovery
This photo was taken during Tammy's 60th birthday celebration on September 2, 2025. Just six months later, her life changed forever. Today, she continues to move forward with courage, determination, and hope as she works toward recovery and independence. πΒ
On March 2, 2026, Tammy's life changed forever when she suffered a devastating stroke. The following day, she experienced a brain hemorrhage, creating even greater challenges on her road to recovery.
Tammy is a beloved sister, friend, coworker, music lover, and cat mom. Before her stroke, she lived independently, worked as a legal secretary for more than 40 years, and was always there for the people she cared about.
Today, Tammy faces the difficult journey of rebuilding her life. She continues to work toward regaining her strength, mobility, communication skills, and independence.
This website was created to share Tammy's story, provide updates on her recovery, and connect those who want to support and encourage her along the way.
Every visit, every share, every message, and every prayer reminds Tammy that she is not alone on this journey. πΒ
Tammy suffered a major stroke on March 2, 2026. The following day, she experienced a brain hemorrhage that significantly complicated her recovery.
After receiving emergency medical care, Tammy was transferred to rehabilitation, where she began intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Her rehabilitation team believed she had significant potential for improvement and recommended continued therapy to help her regain important skills and independence.
Despite the challenges she faces, Tammy has shown remarkable strength and determination throughout her recovery journey. π
Recovery from a severe stroke is not a straight path.
Since her stroke, Tammy has faced numerous obstacles, including paralysis on her right side, difficulty speaking, and challenges with everyday tasks that most people take for granted.
After leaving rehabilitation, Tammy moved to Iowa to live with her sister Kim and brother-in-law Brad, who now help care for her every day.
The transition has been difficult, but Tammy is surrounded by family members who love her and remain committed to helping her continue moving forward. π
Tammy continues working toward recovery one day at a time. Each day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities for progress, healing, and hope.
While Tammy still faces significant physical and communication challenges, she remains determined to keep progressing. Her family continues advocating for the rehabilitation services, therapies, and support she needs to achieve the best possible outcome.
Tammy's stroke left her unable to speak in full sentences and paralyzed on her right side. Despite these challenges, she continues to fight every day for greater strength, independence, and recovery.
Until Tammy can fully speak for herself again, we will continue sharing her story, advocating for her care, and being a voice for her recovery.
Every new word spoken, every movement regained, and every step forward represents hope for a brighter future. π
Stroke recovery does not end when a patient leaves the hospital.
Many survivors require months of rehabilitation, therapy, support, and encouragement to regain as much independence as possible.
Tammy's story is a reminder that recovery is often a long journey, and families are frequently called upon to become caregivers, advocates, and support systems all at once.
By sharing Tammy's story, we hope to raise awareness about the challenges stroke survivors face and the importance of continued rehabilitation and support. π
